Background - Mount
Baker - Snoqualmie NF, located on the west side of the Cascades
between the Canadian border and Mt. Rainier National Park features
glacier-covered peaks, spectacular mountain meadows and old-growth
forests. This forest is in the NABCI Great
Basin Bird Conservation Region (BCR10) and is covered by the
PIF Conservation Strategy for Landbirds in Coniferous Forest of
Western Oregon and Washington (PDF).
MAPS stations are located primarily in coniferous forest with a
riparian or meadow (or clearcut gap) component (Google Earth)
