MAPS AND THE UNITED STATES FISH AND WILDLIFE SERVICE

IBP collaborates with the US Fish and Wildlife Service to monitor bird populations on USFWS properties through a network of MAPS stations. From these data we provide population management guidelines intended to help natural resource specialists maintain landscapes that support "source" populations of landbirds of conservation concern.

Big Oaks National Wildlife Refuge, IN - MAPS stations have operated on this formar Army installation (Jefferson Proving Grounds) since 1994. Data visualizations for these stations are available through the DoD/MAPS pages here.
