1 Region codes identify the MAPS Region in which the station is located.
Data from stations in the Alaska Region (AK) and the Boreal & Arctic Canada Region
(B&AC) were pooled into a single super-region, Alaska and Boreal & Arctic Canada
Regions (AK/B&AC) for the calculation of adult population size and productivity analyses. The region
codes are: AK/B&AC = Alaska and Boreal & Arctic Canada Regions, NW = Northwest Region, SW =
Southwest Region, NC = North-central Region, SC = South-central Region, NE = Northeast Region, SE =
Southeast Region. See the
NBII MAPS Home Page for a map of the Regions.
2 Between-year changes were calculated in a rigorous constant-effort manner using
net-opening and -closing times and net-run times on a net-by-net and period-by-period basis to exclude
captures that occurred in a given net in a given period in one year at a time when that net was not
operated in that period in the other year.
3 Species are those which were captured at two or more stations in the region and for
which 50 or more aged individuals were captured in either year of the comparison. For each species, data
were included from all stations that lie within the breeding range of the species; data from stations
lying outside the breeding range of the species are not included in these adult population size and
productivity analyses.
