Morgan Tingley (Post-doctoral Researcher)

Morgan joined IBP in 2011 after completing his Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Policy and Management at UC Berkeley studying the changes to bird communities in the Sierra Nevada over the last century. He comes to IBP to study the ecology of bird communities in burned forests of the Sierra Nevada, with a focus on black-backed woodpecker occurrence and distribution. His post-doctoral research will study the dynamics of these burned forest bird communities and is a result of a collaboration between IBP and Princeton University, where Morgan will be based. His research interests include climate change impacts, long-term disturbance to forest bird communities, and mathematical models of species distributions.
