Instructions for Exporting Banding Data from MAPSPROG and Importing into Bandit

There are four steps to getting your data from MAPSPROG into Bandit so that it can be submitted to the BBL.

  1. Export the data from MAPSPROG in a format suitable for Bandit. To do this, use the “Utilities” menu and select “Create File For Bandit”. You will be given the options of exporting either the minimum supplementary data required by the BBL or all data fields, and between converting sex codes to numeric (0,4,5,6,7) or maintaining alphanumeric codes (U, M, F, 6, 7)
  2. Steps 2 – 4 are all in Bandit. You will find the help documentation on the BBL website useful. We have provided links to the BBL’s Bandit Documentation for each step.

  3. Enter your location data into Bandit

You are now ready to submit the data to the BBL. Realize that you must first clear all warnings and errors before submitting the data.
