Instructions for Exporting Banding Data from MAPSPROG and Importing into Bandit
Before beginning, you must have the correct export structure in your c:\ibp\ directory for MAPSPROG to use!
If you are using Bandit version 2.01,
right-click on this
link and select "Save" from the pop-up menu.
If you are using Bandit version 3.0,
right-click on this
link and select "Save" from the pop-up menu.
Unzip the downloaded file (if your computer does not automatically do so) and copy the enclosed Banditst.dbf to your c:\ibp\ directory. Overwrite the file
of the same name already in the directory. If you are using Banding
1.03 this step is not necessary.
Four steps to getting your data from MAPSPROG into Bandit
so that it can be submitted to the BBL.
- Export the data from MAPSPROG in a format suitable for Bandit.
To do this, use the "Utilities" menu and select “Create
File For Bandit. You will be given the options of exporting either
the minimum supplementary data required by the BBL or all data fields,
and between converting sex codes to numeric (0,4,5,6,7) or maintaining
alphanumeric codes (U, M, F, 6, 7)
Steps 2 - 4 are all in Bandit. You will find the help documentation
on the BBL website useful. We have provided links to the BBL's Bandit
Documentation for each step.
